If this sounds familiar

You don't need a diagnosis to start.

  • Your anxiety won't turn off — even when nothing is technically wrong.
  • Something from a long time ago keeps showing up in the present.
  • You're grieving something — a person, a season, a version of your life — and it hasn't moved.
  • Work is fine on paper, but you're running on fumes.
  • Your faith has shifted, and you're not sure what you believe anymore.
  • You're in a transition — marriage, kids, career, loss — and the ground feels unsteady.

You're in the right place.

Why one-on-one work matters

If we give it time, life will overwhelm us. Individual counseling gives you a room where your story is honored, your emotions welcomed, and your strengths rediscovered — at your pace, in your words.

My belief is that therapy should help you connect more to yourself, God, and others. Whether you're navigating trauma or wrestling with transition, this is space to rest and recover for whatever life throws at you next.

Questions people ask before they call

Straight answers

What is individual counseling like at Field House?+

It's one-on-one — just you and Jake in a quiet office in the Nashville area. Sessions are 50 minutes. The first session is a conversation about what brought you in and what you want to be different; from there we set a pace and a plan together. There's no couch-and-clipboard routine.

What do people usually come to individual therapy for?+

Anxiety that won't turn off, trauma or something from childhood that's never been said out loud, grief, burnout, a faith that's shifted, a marriage or career in transition, or simply the sense that something's off. You don't need a diagnosis to start — 'I'm tired of white-knuckling it' is reason enough.

Do you offer Christian counseling?+

Yes. Jake's belief is that therapy should help you connect more to yourself, God, and others. Faith is welcome in the room and integrated when you want it to be — and never forced when you don't.

Where is the office, and do you see clients from outside Brentwood?+

The office is at 5123 Virginia Way, Suite B-11 in the Nashville area — an easy drive from Franklin, Green Hills, Nolensville, Cool Springs, and Berry Hill, and roughly 15–20 minutes south of downtown Nashville.

How much does individual counseling cost, and do you take insurance?+

Sessions are $150 for 50 minutes. Field House is private pay, and a detailed invoice (superbill) is provided on request so you can submit it to your insurance for out-of-network reimbursement if your plan offers it.

How long does individual therapy take?+

It depends on what you're carrying. Some people come for a focused stretch of 8–12 weeks around a specific issue; others stay longer to work on patterns that have been running for years. We'll talk about it openly rather than leaving it vague.
